Dimna Lake is a popular tourist destination in Jamshedpur. It is located at the foothills of the Dalma mountain range and is famous for its peace and pleasant greenery. The lake is also known as a picnic spot, with its clear water and natural surroundings. Dimna Lake is a favorite place not only for the people of Jamshedpur but also for those from West Bengal. It is an artificial lake that provides water supply to the city of Jamshedpur. Located about 10 km from the city, the lake was created by Tata Steel. There are several chairs where visitors can sit and enjoy the beauty of the lake. A strong railing separates the viewers from the lake, and crossing it is not allowed. Nearby is the Tata Steel Management Development Center.

Dimna Lake is one of the beautiful spots in Jamshedpur. Tourists especially visit the lake from November to February. It is a great place to visit with friends and family. During the picnic season, people enjoy it with their loved ones. Tourists also visit the lake during other months. There is a separate area for picnics, and a helipad next to the picnic area is available for helicopter landings.

One great thing about picnicking at Dimna is that you can also cook food there.

TSAF Camp

On the other side of the lake is the TSAF (Tata Steel Adventure Foundation) camp, which serves as the base camp for water sports like rafting and scaring. All safety precautions are strictly followed here. Additionally, spending the night in the lap of nature offers a unique experience. Registration can be done at the TSAF office located inside the JRD Tata Sports Complex.

How to reach Dimna Lake

You can reach Dimna Lake by using your car or bike. Additionally, you can also use local transport like auto-rickshaws or tempos. It is not far from the city, about 10 km away. You can also go by a rented vehicle, which would be a good option as it makes it easier to carry food or other items.
