History
The JRD Tata Sports Complex was inaugurated in 1991 and quickly became the largest stadium in Jamshedpur. Initially, the stadium had a seating capacity of around 60,000 spectators. After major renovations in 2017, the capacity was adjusted to improve safety and viewing comfort.
Today, the stadium is best known as the home ground of Jamshedpur FC. The club has played its home matches here since the 2017–18 season of the Hero ISL.
In 2007, the stadium hosted a memorable international exhibition match between São Paulo Futebol Clube and Mohammedan Sporting Club, highlighting its importance on the Indian football map.
